The Olympic Games in Beijing Demonstrated the Efficiency of the Chinese Civilization Model
The Olympic Games have never bore as much political connotation as the ones currently underway in Beijing. It is a geopolitical competition of two major global players – the well-established, Western-capitalist United States, and the emerging authoritarian-capitalist China. Although Asian collectivism is sometimes perceived as an alternative to Western individualism, the two models are irreconcilable rivals way beyond the sports field.

Russian Olympians Know the Limit of What They Can Achieve, Financially
Amid the preparations for the Beijing Olympics, the only real prognosis is that Russian athletes will be showered with financial rewards and perks when they return home, provided they bring back the booty to show for it.
